Our mission is to create a family atmosphere, in a fun environment, where our students can find a love for dance and performing.
Susan Tomaselli is the owner and director of Step'N'Out Dance Studios. She graduated from Dean College in 2003 as a dance major and went straight to her favorite place in the world, Manhattan. There was something about the bright lights and Broadway shows that inspired her every day that she lived there. She trained at Broadway Dance Center along with taking classes at Steps and Alvin Ailey.
When the opportunity came for her to open her own dance studio, she knew she had found the right place here in Norwalk. Susan took her passion for dancing and performing and mixed it with her love of the city lights and Broadway shows. Wanting to bring this to her own stage, In September of 2005 at the age of 22, in a little 24x30 studio, Step’N’Out Dance Studios was born.
We started that September with 22 students and by the May performance we had grown to 43. We began growing at a fast rate and quickly outgrew our location. In September 2008 we found our new home at 14 Strawberry Hill where we now have 3 large studios to accommodate all of our dancers.
Each year we have an annual holiday performance in December and an annual spring performance in May. In addition we perform throughout the year at different events. We believe that giving our students the opportunity to perform in public builds their confidence; self esteem and teaches them the important value of working as a team, which they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
